Is RAPTIVA Right For Me?
You've tried the creams and the pills. Maybe you've even tried another injectable to help control your psoriasis. But if you still haven't found the results you are looking for, consider RAPTIVA. It may be the right treatment for you if you are 18 years of age or older, with chronic moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, and you are a candidate for systemic therapy or phototherapy.

Indication
RAPTIVA is a medicine given by injection and is used to treat adult patients (18 years or older) with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis who can be treated with medicines that affect the whole body (systemic therapy) or with phototherapy.
Important Safety Information
- Before you start taking Raptiva, tell your healthcare provider if you have an infection. RAPTIVA can decrease the activity of your immune system to fight infections. People using Raptiva may have an increased chance of getting serious infections. Some infections in people using Raptiva have become serious and in rare cases these have led to hospitalization or death.
- Raptiva likely increases the risk of getting Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML), a rare brain disease caused by a virus which usually results in death or severe disability. If you use Raptiva for longer periods of time or you are older you may be at higher risk of getting PML while on Raptiva.
- Signs and symptoms of PML can include a new or sudden change in thinking, balance, strength, talking, walking, or vision. Call your doctor right away if you have any of these symptoms.
- Many drugs that decrease the activity of the immune system can increase the risk of cancer. The role of RAPTIVA in the development of cancer is unknown.
- Other serious side effects experienced by patients treated with RAPTIVA included low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia), low blood counts (anemia), new or worsening psoriasis, new or worsening arthritis, and nervous system disorders. Speak to your doctor right away if you experience symptoms of these side effects or have any new symptoms or concerns.
- Talk to your healthcare provider if you need to receive a vaccine while using RAPTIVA. RAPTIVA may reduce the effectiveness of vaccinations given during RAPTIVA therapy. You should not receive live (including live-attenuated) vaccines while using RAPTIVA.
- Raptiva has not been studied in children under 18 years of age and children should not received Raptiva.
- The most common side effects of RAPTIVA include headache, chills, fever, nausea, and muscle aches. These reactions usually happen within the first 48 hours following RAPTIVA injection, and often decrease after the first few weeks of use of RAPTIVA.
